This was the only book I used to prepare for the CLEP exam, and I passed with a 71! The great thing about this book is that it presents all the necessary material in a condensed format. I studied about 2-3 hours a day for 2 weeks before the exam, and that seemed to be enough.
The practice exams at the end of the book have some questions that weren't addressed in the review section. Don't let that worry you too much, though. If you know the review material inside and out, you should be able to pass the exam.
I also highly recommend buying the sample exam from the CLEP website. This was more representative of the actual exam in my case.

This book is all I used. Just read the course review and then continue to plow through the practice tests until you know them like the back of your hand and you'll be fine.

for the CLEP exam. Covers a lot of subject matter in the field of psychology overall (would make a decent intro to Psych study guide!) This was the only book I used to pass after only 3 weeks of study--well worth the price for the time and tuition $$ I saved!!

After briefly studying from this book (about one week), I successfully passed the clep exam. I was familiar with the content, but the book was a good review.

I bought this book back in Nov. 2001.
I took the test Dec. 2001.
A required score of 50 is necessary to pass; I scored 57.
I read the information at the beginning of the book.
Then memorized all the questions and answers, as well as the answer explanation section. I didn't use other texts for this test.
Also, you now have the luxury of answering all the questions without being penalized for incorrect answers.
